Judith was born in Newcastle upon Tyne England; she developed a passion for drawing at the
tender age of three and at the age of 15 won a prestigious scholarship to study art at Newcastle
University.

She moved to Australia in 1973 and has since studied fashion illustration and design at East
Sydney tech., following this she worked for a number of fashion houses.

Judith was fortunate to be taught watercolour painting by John Upton a well-known local artist
who was one of the founding members of St George Art Society. He was one of many artists whom
have inspired her to paint including John Wilson, Harley Brown and Leonardo Da Vinci.

Judith has extensive experience teaching art to children age 3 to HSC level, and a broad range of
adult students of varying ages and skills. Her teaching includes portraiture, and all other subjects
in all mediums. She experiences great joy in passing on her knowledge, helping students find their
unique style and seeing the improvement in their work over time. She has been teaching for over
12 years at various locations, currently teaching from her studio at Lugarno, where she hosts
classes up to eight students and also gives private tuition.

She is proficient in all mediums and styles, preferring to achieve realism and emotion in her work;
she believes drawing is an important foundation to good art work and enjoys helping artists achieve
improved drawing skills.

Judith has won many awards and has been commissioned to paint a number of portraits and paintings
of various subjects. Her portrait commissions include surgeons, dancers, families and individuals.

Her work hangs in local hospitals, government offices and private homes both overseas
and in Australia.
